Exchange and Distribution

I have started to research the exchange of music products online. There are so many different online stores and music download sites available today which makes music access easy for the consumer. I did some further research into onine stores such as play.com and cdwow to see the interest in these sites and who was using them to purchase music.

Figures taken from http://whois.domaintools.com/ about play.com

These figures show that this particular music website is slightly more popular with males than females. We can also comment on the age demographics as the mian interest is seen from people aged 18-34. This is interesting as this is about the same as our target audience as our song. Considering this, our album could be potentially sold on this website.

SITES MONTHLY VISITS:184,314

CDWOW Figures

Differeing from play.com, we can see form this table that CDWOW has more of a female interest than a male. We can also notice the slightly older age group who purchase music from this particular site indicating that our music video, taking into account our traget audience wuld probably not be featured on this particular website although we cannot rule out any interest at all.

SITES MONTHLY VISITS: 10,757
