To gain more audience feedback from our music video we are presenting our video in a school assembly and handing out questionnaires. This will be extremely useful as we will get a variety of opinions and improvements for our music video and help us with our evaluation.

Media Lesson - 15/11/10
In todays media lesson we went through the coursework percentages and the deadlines. Hannah and I realise we still need to complete our music video aswell as a digipack and a magazine ad for the digipack. We are not allowed to use our lesson time to edit our music video anymore so have decided to use the non pupil day on Friday to catch up. We have already spoken to our media teacher and will speak to the on site care takers to check that this will be possible. If so, we will be coming in on Friday 19th from 10 til 3 to complete our music video. Hannah and I are finding arranging times difficult as we both work after school and at the moment Hannah is arranging charities week throughout lunch times. We did get a copy of the media rooms timetable to find out when it is free and what teachers would let us use their lesson time to work quietly on the computers. However, arranging this time has been difficult as Hannah and I have very different timetables as the only lesson we have in common is media. We have approx. 5 weeks left to complete our music video, the digipack, the advert and the evaluation.
I am going to :
I am going to :
- Buy some magazines and look at how digipacks are advertised.
- Also look at websites and how adverts are advertised online.
- Look at previous photos from our filming sessions and do some screen grabs to get images for our digipack - this will help with intertextual consistency as we will be using some stills from the video.
- Evaluation - look at how the audience responded? (we need to complete the video firstly) and why we did it etc, I also need to include codes and conventions.

Progress Update
In today's lesson we decided to go over all our filming and we have come to the conclusion that we would like to film some extra footage of grace acting as his girlfriend as we only have a few shots of this and wouldn't have enough to make our narrative look like a convincing storyline.
We hope to do this on Monday in which Grace and I both have a free period so that this would be a great opportunity to film this.

- Standing by a lamp-post
- Walking away-giving the impression she is leaving him
Organisation with other subjects
Since starting A2 work in September I have been very busy. Not only have I been blogging and editing for my media coursework, I have also been set two history coursework essays, one being an interpretation and one where I have to do private study and do my own investigation question. I also have English Literature coursework where I have to read books independently. All three of these subjects are very time consuming so I feel I may have not posted as many detailed blogs as other members of my class and wanted to address this on the blog. I have however tried to keep up with all my subjects in the best way that I can, especially in media as I plan to carry on with it at university.

Lesson - 1/11/2010
Today Hannah and I decided to work on separate computers to get the most work done to our deadline. So, I uploaded our second set of clips from our second filming session whilst she researched into Digipacks on www.allcdcovers.com . This was to get a head start on front covers, back covers and the in lay, I will be looking into this soon myself.
Here is a screen shot of all our clips in the browser.
I uploaded all the clips and started to cut down the size of the clips and to work out what we could use for our final music video.
Here are screen shots of what I was working on in the lesson:
Here is a shot of our artist Joe, it is an establishing shot of the street where we filmed.
Here is a screen shot of all our clips in the browser.
Here is the timeline where I started cutting all our clips down so we can mix these clips with the ones we previously filmed.

Organisation - Timetable and To Do List
I signed up to http://www.yourorganiser.com.au/ - This is a helpful online organiser. I wrote out my Media Studies lessons and my free study periods to give myself a visual copy of how much time we have left until the final deadline and day off timetable.
-Complete our storyboard.
-Try to do a commentary of our storyboard so we can fully explain it.
-Edit our newest clips - bring all the clips together to complete the video.
-When editing, change the contrast, and make sure all memories of our artist and his girlfriend are in black and white.
-Check the lip syncing - make sure all lines sung are in time with the music.
-Start looking into Digipack work.

Evaluation Points
Groups Progress- Since Nick's departure form the group Grace and I have had to double-up on work and really put in the time to be able to achieve this. We have worked well together which is bonus when there is only 2 in the group. One disadvantage to this would be that we have found it hard to produce the amount of work that is needed between two people however we have tried to overcome this issue by delegating and sharing the work which has made such a difference.
Grace and I have been able to pick up on new technical process in photoshop and final cut express which we both can take away for further references. We have been able to gain the knowledge of new skills and I would say that my main personal progress are the skills I have learnt through final cut express and how to achieve certain editing techniques such as adjusting the sun exposure and contrast of differnt shots.

All Individual Progress Reports
12 October Progress Update
- Filmed some footage yesterday to experiment with angles and types of shot.
- First problem we had was that the song wasn't available on my laptop without a support file so we had to put it onto a USB stick and then play it through the laptop and record it onto a phone so that we could easily accsess the song while filming.
- Still yet to film the "street" view of the video, hope to do this within the next few days.
- At present we are cutting the footage in which we recorded on monday.
26 October Progress Report
- We have now filmed most of our footage although we have set aside some days for polish up filming in case we desperatly need to film something. We have cut the countryside footage although we still need to cut the street location footage which shouldn't take too long.
- Research audience feedback to current footage and what can be improved.
- Finish storyboarding.
- Further research genre and star image work.
